KTF to Roll out CDMA/WCMDA Phone in Late '05
August 19, 2005
In cooperation with Samsung, KTF is expected to provide ten million WCDMA-CDMA hand-over mobile phones for the next three years beginning in late 2005. They will then be able to better compete with SK Telecom, which started providing WCDMA mobile phones in May 2005.

KTF and US communication equipment player Agilent developed the WCDMA hand-over chip that solves the intermittent problem between WCDMA and CDMA system technologies. Currently, KTF is having the chip tested by Samsung and LG and is expected to use it on one kind of DBDM (Dual-Band Dual-Mode) mobile phone at the end of 2005. More than ten new handsets will come out in 2006.
